Ayushman Bharat:Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana PMJAY
Ayushman Bharat, a flagship scheme of the Government of India, was launched as recommended by the National Health Policy 2017, to achieve the vision of Universal Health Coverage (UHC). This initiative has been designed to meet Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and its underlining commitment, which is to "leave no one behind."
What Is Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY)?
Ayushman Bharat, officially known as Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), is one of the world’s largest government-funded health assurance schemes.
Launch & Coverage
Introduced on 23 September 2018, it provides up to ₹5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary hospitalisation in both public and empanelled private facilities
Beneficiaries
Aimed at over 12 crore (approx. 55 crore individuals) belonging to the bottom 40% of the population, as identified via the SECC-2011 (Socio-Economic Caste Census) .
Online PMJAY Beneficiary Check Steps
- 1. Go to the official PMJAY website: https://pmjay.gov.in
- 2. Click on “Am I Eligible?” (या "क्या मैं पात्र हूँ?").
- 3. Enter required details:
- Mobile number
- Aadhaar number (sometimes optional, depending on state)
- Ration card / PMJAY family ID (if available)
- 4. Enter the OTP received on your mobile.
- 5. The system will show whether your family is covered under PMJAY.

Ayushman Bharat Hospital List
Follow the given procedure:
Step 1: Visit the official website of the PMJAY (hospitals.pmjay.gov.in
Step 2: Select your state and the district.
Step 3: Now, choose the type of hospital (public/private-for-profit/private and not for profit)
Step 4: Choose the medical speciality you are looking for.
Step 5: Enter the “Captcha Code” and click on search.
